Sew Bee Happy!

The lovely Cindy (Fluffy Sheep Quilting) recently invited me to join another online bee, called Sew Bee Happy!

I said yes straightaway, as this bee is all about scraps!!!  Yippee!

I understand the group has been running for over a year, & January sees a new year of makes, with a new Mama (Cindy) and some new bee members.

Cindy is kicking off the year with her block choice (taken from the fabulous Modern Blocks book) & some Kona White to get us started:

The Stargazing Block from page 178

This wee section is only 3.5"!

The yellows are much more vibrant than you see here! It's my rubbish photography skills again!

These were fun to make, and I hope Cindy enjoys them too!

And check out Leanne's amazing take on this pattern over on her blog.

Have a wonderful start to the new week!

  1. Ooooh love this block! I was thinking just last night I'd like to do some more scrappy stars but didn't think about it enough to work out how.

  2. I love this block and yours are so lovely! It is so fun to fussy cut the centres of the stars and your embroidery is another great idea for them.

  7. These are Gorgeous Judith!
Just one small correction to your post tho- Cindy is not actually bee mumma. That would be me. Sew & Bee Happy was my original bee that I started. I wasn't planning to coninue so Leona came on as an admin. But then they talked me into staying so now Leona and I co-manage. It just so happened that Cindy knew you might be intested in joining and was the one to invite you in.
-just a little history for you LOL :)

  10. I love your blocks and esp the fussy cuts in the middle! Looks like a fun bee! If you ever want to try the yellow/ochre colorway of the puppy fabric, I have some ( not sure how much I have)-- I think you saw it in one of my past posts. Just let me know-- I'm a dog lover, too (although luckily mine has not chewed any of my makes yet!)
