Back to School!

My 3 darling angels (?!) returned to school today!  That means I now have the house to myself once again, and can start to panic think about all the things I need to be working on!

I haven't been totally lax over the holidays though!  As you know I've been working on Dad's Civil War quilt.  Here are another 3 blocks done.

'Games, Music & Knitting' aka Churn Dash

'Meeting General Lee'

'Mail Delivery' aka Dutchman's Puzzle
That's 8 out of 20 made so far.

And a wee peek on a little something for someone!
Full reveal when the recipient receives it!
There's also a much bigger project brewing for me, which I can't talk about yet, but I'm getting a little excited about!  Perhaps in a few weeks I'll be able to let you in on it!!

So now I'm off to turn the music up full blast and dance around the house naked (no not really, just joking -  the music won't be that loud!).

Have a wonderful Thursday!

  1. Was going to say "joining you in spirit" but thought that sounded weird, but hey, I've said it.

  2. Photos please!!

Loving the civil war quilt which is funny for someone who prefers bright colours and modern. You are teaching me a lesson here.

  6. Your blocks are looking beautiful-- I think that is my favorite churn dash I've ever seen (and churn dash is not usually a block that does anything for me) and Dutchman's Puzzle is one of my faves (anything that resembles flying geese I like). Those fabrics/colors really are exceptional together. I'm with Susan-- don't usually really care for Civil War fabrics-- but never say never. Please don't inspire me to want to add another project to my list of makes I want to make! I think I know what the sneak peak is if it has to do with your recent giveaway winner. It looks good! Hope you enjoyed your first day of peace and quiet (or peace and music) with the kids back to school.

  13. You are knocking these blocks out so fast Judith!! They look great :)
A good dance is just what's needed! I'm excited about your project, although I'm hoping it's not linked with the nakedness!!

  16. Ooh, perfect points there missus! As for the dancing, well my flatmate arrived home unexpectedly early last Friday - I had the day off but he was meant to be working! Turned out they got sent home at lunchtime as a good will gesture for new year. When I expressed my surprise at his sudden presence, he said that he could have got lucky and come home to find me running around the flat naked - I told him that was highly unlikely, but I'll just send him over to see you now ;o)
