Getting Ready!

My kids go back to school at the end of next week!  Yippee!

We are all looking forward to some routine after a very surreal summer.

My eldest starts her last year of school.  Eeek!! AS results day last week was a day of celebration and we are getting excited now looking at different universities.

Meanwhile, the 2 youngest put in their annual requests for Back To School pencil cases!

Pencil case

Bethany picked out these fabrics and wanted a flat pencil case.

Lucy (the tomboy) gets 2 because for a change I actually had fabrics that are totally her & I couldn't choose between them!

And Lucy's friend has a birthday this week, so she gets some leftover Fabric Yard fabric - love those elephants!

Zippy Pouches 011

I have one more 'summer birthday make' to show you, and not a zipper in sight on this one!  More on that tomorrow!

  1. The most surreal thing for me was the beginning of the first school year after my daughter finished. It was sort of "Hey. You are a kid. Kids go to school, so why aren't you at school?" A truly weird feeling. Enjoy the peace & quiet of the start of term.

  4. Absolutely love the pencil cases, and you get your zips so flat!!! I miss the buzz of the kids getting ready for a new school year, mine all loved school so there was always a sense of excitement tinged with regret at the end of the summer. Enjoy it.

  5. They're all fabulous! I'd love to be able to make them.....but one look at a zip, and all sewing skills, common sense and steady nerves go flying frantically out of the nearest window!!!! xx

  6. Love those pencil cases. Jenny got her A level results last week, although she isn't reliant on them for her apprenticeship. And we have GCSE results tomorrow!
