You will be relieved to know that I got my very talented friend in to teach and share her knowledge of curtain making!
Had I not, the results wouldn't have been as fantastic as this:
There was another lady who managed to get away without me snapping a picture of her and her fabulous curtains!
These ladies are now armed with the knowledge of how to measure & cut lengths & widths of curtain fabric, matching pattern repeats, mitred & weighted corners & header tape! I learned loads myself too!
Well done ladies! You did brilliantly! I hope your curtains are now hanging proudly in your homes!
Before I go, just time to tell you about another very talented friend from NI who is now blogging (it's really catching on here - watch this space for more!).
Janette from Zigzag Along is a talented quilter with a great eye for fabrics! Pop on over and say hi! She's working on the most beautiful Bliss quilt at the moment.
Hope you are having a great weekend!
If we ever own our own house this is a skill I want to learn. Suppose I'll just have to come visit!
ReplyDeleteI make most of my own curtains: much more satisfying than buying them. Your ladies did well
ReplyDeleteI don't have a single curtain in my house these days but when I did I got myself a book and taught myself. It was very satisfying to save so much money. I'd have much rather done a course with you though!
ReplyDeleteWe have binds on all windows bar one set - I need to pull myself together and sort them out!
ReplyDeleteHad a lovely day making my curtains-just need to get the curtain pole up! Thanks Jude & Heather x
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the wellie curtains! Super!
ReplyDeleteWhen Susan's heading over for a class, call me. I want in too :)
popping over and fab curtains!
ReplyDeletelooks like a very successful class Judith!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! This is a good skill cos curtains are darned expensive! I just made a curtain for our silly sized front door - it tuurned out I needed to make a lined panel 2.75m x 2.5m, you should have seen me hauling it around...(and apparantly it's an inch too short, so I need to take it up...grrr..don't have the strength to take it down again just yet!)
ReplyDeleteI particularly love the ones with the wellies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention, Judith. Only getting round to catching up now.
