My Favourite Bag!

Also in Popular Patchwork (March issue) is one of my most favourite bags!

Qayg bag for Popular Patchwork Mar16

It's my favourite bag because the 'quilt as you go' technique is one of my favourite quilting techniques and I get to continue my love affair with scraps!

QAYG Shopping Bag class sample

I love the texture QAYG creates, and it's perfect for projects where you need a little more structure.

QAYG Mosaic

My pattern will show you how to 'quilt as you go' and also how to insert a recessed zipper, perfect for keeping all your fabric purchases essentials secure!

Hmmm, all this talk about QAYG makes me want to make something else using this fun technique! It's not like I don't have plenty of scraps to choose from after all!

Do you have a favourite quilting technique?

  1. Hi Judith! I love your bag and the other things made with scraps and qayg. I think you helped me to decide what kind of bag to make. That has been on my list so long time and I just couldn find inspiration to make the bag. x Teje

  4. This is great and such a fab way to use scraps. I have been off work this week and made up a couple of cushions using this technique, and also the same design as your bag. They worked beautifully and it felt as if they were free because they were made of scraps. Although I like to sew I don't enjoy the quilting part so always tend to keep them simple and use straight lines too. I also did a dresden cushion and echo quilted it to showcase the shape. x

  5. I think you may be the queen of scrappy QAYG! Favourite technique? Hand piecing, naturally!
