Long Johns!

This morning I got all my Christmas presents wrapped and stuffed under the tree!

Including these:

pjs 007

These are pyjama bottoms for my 3 girls (as requested by them).

Now you would be forgiven for thinking that I had in fact 2 girls and a boy!

PJs

Well, my middle daughter is a complete tomboy, so no prizes for guessing which pjs are for her (she chose the fabric).  A friend recently gave me some buttons and I knew straight away where I would use the camo ones!!

PJs

My youngest loves dogs and animals in general so I couldn't resist getting her this fabric!

And my lovely Shannon had 'claimed' this Christmas fabric back in October when it arrived for my classes!!

PJs

It was great being able to use the same size pattern for all 3 girls, and they are so satisfyingly quick and easy to make.

If you are local, and fancy giving them a go for yourself, I still have a few places left on the PJs workshop next month.

Keep Calm and Drink Tea!!

I'm pleased to say I've got all my secret sewing projects completed.

chenille baby blanket 005

2 of the projects will be revealed soon, I promise!

To more pressing matters, a birthday present for a 'fruit tea loving 12 year old' was required for tomorrow!

Beth's mug rug 007

I know this particular young lady also loves the colour purple (a girl after my own heart!).  You can imagine the bother I had trying to wrap this one up!

I also managed to make a start on my Christmas present making by cutting out pjs for my 3 girls!

Fabric for PJs!
3 guesses who the camo is for!!!
And if anyone living in N.I. is stuck for a present idea, how about one of these?

Baby No More!

This little cutie .....

turns 18 years of age today!  Wow!  How did that happen!

She is away for the weekend, celebrating with friends. But yesterday we opened her pressies.  Wanna see what I made her?

Log cabin Circles for Shannon Oct13

This quilt is called Log Cabin Circles, made with Amy Butler Soul Blossoms (chosen by Shannon) and beautifully long arm quilted in hearts by my friend Janette.

Shannon's 18th Birthday Quilt Oct13

It's a sizeable quilt at approx. 77" x 77", and one that Shannon wants to take away with her to uni next year.

She also hinted at needing some new pjs, after seeing me making some after FQ retreat in July!

Shannon's birthday pjs Oct13

Like the others I've made, these too are made from a charity shop vintage sheet, and she loves them!

I will be spending the day coming to terms with the fact that my beautiful baby is a baby no longer.  I'm so proud of the sensitive and talented woman she has become.   Happy birthday my sweet girl!

Off to Bed!

At Fat Quarterly Retreat, I took Kerry's class on making pyjama bottoms!  We were working from a paper pattern, a first for me!

I'm sure I could have got them made in the 3 hour workshop, the construction is straightforward, but too much nattering and catching up with friends meant I left retreat with a half finished pair! Just as well I had packed another pair as I was sharing a bed with Terri that night!!  Eeeeeek!

Anyway, a spare half an hour this week enabled me to get my pjs finished!

Vintage Sheets PJs

I used a vintage sheet for my pjs - so snuggly and soft! This particular sheet was donated to me by this lovely lady (& Kerry's beautiful assistant)!  I have enough left for another pair!

Vintage Sheets PJs

I used a different vintage sheet fq for the turn-ups!  It is so refreshing for me to have Pjs that are actually too long for my 32" legs!

Vintage Sheets PJs

I've really enjoyed making these, and at the risk of looking like the Von Trapp Family, I have pairs already cut out for all my girls!!

Thanks Kerry for a brill class and easing my fear of patterns!
