Spools for Thought!

As promised, I am showing you what I made out of my old wooden spools.

Spools 003
These are the small spools.  I have several more larger sized ones too!
I've put some of my favourite vintage fabrics and some ribbons onto them, and threaded them onto lace, ready to be hung up in my sewing room as spool bunting!

Spools 006

Isn't it amazing what you can do with double sided sticky tape!!!

I was hoping to get some pics of the bunting strung up, but alas, the furniture painting didn't quite get finished, so the room still isn't back to normal (whatever that means!).

But I'm pleased with how everything is shaping up and I promise I'll show you more pics when I get organised.

I hope you've had a lovely Bank Holiday Monday (UK).  The sun shone today (woohoo), the Belfast Marathon was a success, I attended the official opening of the cutest wee shop, and even got to take the kids out for ice-cream!

Back to porridge tomorrow!

  7. What a clever idea, you could also string them vertically with big beads to separate.......

  8. What a great idea. I was trying to work out what you might be doing and best I could come up with was a spool wreath. Can't wait to see your big reveal
