At last, the Blogger problems seem to have been resolved.
I can once more enjoy leaving comments on other people's blogs (all good of course!).
So here is a little of what I've been up to recently.
My friend's mum shortened a skirt and asked me to make her a brooch from the offcut, to co-ordinate with her tops (stylish mama!).
This is what I came up with. Not one ........
.......... but two brooches!
And not only that ......................
... a chic neck scarf to go with them!
I hope she likes them!
I need to turn my attention to my daughter's long awaited crazy-patched throw.
Sashing & cornerstones are cut out and ready to sew - hopefully tomorrow.
As I keep calling this 'my daughter's long awaited throw' I'm in danger of this becoming a permanent name!
Please feel free to make suggestions for names for this quilt. If you want to view more pics of the blocks, click here (you will need to scroll down past the dresden pics).
Thank you!
I love the brooch with the green button; the other one looks like an evil eye; keep looking, bet it'll blink!! (I watch too much Dr Who!).
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your 'crazy daughter's quilt'!
Welcome back to the commenting world! Great use of the skirt offcuts. I would still be sat there thinking 'she wants me to do what?!'
ReplyDeleteKnew we couldn't keep you silent for long! Good to have you back. I suggest you should name the quilt "Best Things" as in the saying 'the best things come to those who wait'!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, i also love the cute accessories for your friend's mum. See how productive you are when you stop commenting!
ReplyDeleteWell done you! Brooches and scrappy blocks look awesome :-) I would call it "Baggins". Kinda like your name sake, and one of the blocks looks a bit like Saurons eye from the Lord of the Rings (bilbo bagigins is a character).. Wierd, I know.
ReplyDeleteYou are very clever, making excellent brooches and accessories! I love the scrappy blocks but you are the quilt naming genius, not me. Those blocks have a lot of movement, maybe that suggests a name?
