Vintage Makeover!

I've recently turned a spare room in my house into a bedroom.

A wee lick of paint does wonders!  It's only a small room, but I'm enjoying repurposing some items to put into it.

Bedroom makeover - vintage sheets

I recovered some mdf (that was previously above my own bed) with wadding and vintage sheets, sewn together in strips, and staple gunned to the back (aren't staple guns the best!!).

Bedroom makeover - vintage sheets

I like how the 'head board' is like a type of wall art against the white walls!  Goes nicely with my 'Nana Naps' vintage quilt too, don't you think!

Bunting - vintage sheets

I also rustled up some vintage bunting to hang above the window.

I've a few more items of furniture to makeover before the room is complete. But I'm loving the transformation so far!

  3. Love your headboard, but where do you get all your vintage sheets from? I never see nice ones in the charity shop! Many years ago a friend and I made a mdf headboard for my bed and stencilled it. Really regret the day that went to the dump!

  13. That really makes a lovely feature of the headboard - I hope it is screwed to the wall well - using your drill skillz again?? The bunting is cute too. How about a topper for the little bedside table next?
