This week I'll be teaching Framed Purses at my classes. Here are some variations I have made as class samples:
The rear purse is made from a free sample of deco weight fabric and a scrap of tweed!! The front purse is made from the leftover triangles cut off flying geese blocks!! I keep triangle leftovers in a jar!!
Next up, I drafted a paper pieced 'geese' template, and made the pouch using teeny scraps for the geese and Essex Yarn Dyed Linen for the rest.
You will see that I varied the shape slightly of this pouch, extending the corners further.
And finally, an EPP 1" hexie pouch, again using tiny scraps.
The templates for all of these pouches are for a 2.5" x 6" metal glue-in frame.
I hope my ladies enjoy making these pouches this week!
Linking up with Nicky and Leanne's Scraptastic Tuesday!

Lovely purses, Jude, but those frames look tricky! ;)
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, I especially love the shape of the grey one. And such a cute jar for the scraps. I also covet your pincushion holder, no poked fingers from pins going through the bottom. I'm glad you shared these for scraptastic Tuesday too.
ReplyDeleteHi Judith! I know you all will have such a great time in the class! These are so beautiful pouches! x Teje

Oh they will certainly love making these. I still do. They are fast and fun unless you want to get more complicated with the patchwork, which makes them perfect for whatever amount of sewing play time you have available.
ReplyDeleteI love those purses and wish I was close enough to come to the class - I have a frame but haven't yet got round to making the purse to go in it...it'll have to go on my FAL list next quarter!
ReplyDeleteLovely pouches. Intersting to see what others do with scraps.
ReplyDeleteSo cute and pretty, bet will be a fun class.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Sylvia
They are gorgeous pouches. Love the hexie one. Well done.
ReplyDeleteSo cute? Must.make.one!
ReplyDeleteLol! Excuse the rogue question mark... I'm certain they're cute!
DeleteThey're all cute but I love the hexie one and looking forward to all the variations that your students come up with.
ReplyDeletefast and fun , but sometimes difficult to control the glue, my daughter and I found! Make great presents though
ReplyDeleteSweet little pouches, enjoy the class!
ReplyDeleteThese are so very gorgeous, proving that even those offcuts can be put to great use.
ReplyDeleteOoh I'm behind in looking through the linkers but how lovely to come across these beauties! Well deserved prize winner Jude - so happy for you and hope your prize comes in useful!
ReplyDeleteI love to see variations on a theme all together like this. My favourite is the hexie purse. x
ReplyDeleteOne day I'll get around to trying to make one of these. All of yours are lovely but I particularly love the geese.
